Mocha American Bulldog Mix Washington, PA

Described as a sweetheart, it's hard to take your eyes off of this adorable face. Transported from an overcrowded shelter, Mocha was in the hands of someone who had her ears cropped -- maybe to make her look tough? But so far the only tough thing about Mocha is getting her to leave her comfy bed and go for a long walk. AND - asking her to give up her toys! Said to be good with SOME other dogs (we would arrange a meet), she recently had a great time with another visiting male bulldog but he, being older and more retiring, preferred a less playful companion than Mocha turned out to be. She has not been as cozy with the females she has met.

She vocalizes at her toys in a wide variety of gurgles and growls. But she loves people and does not make a peep even when carrying our "Miss Piggy" back to her kennel when she only wants to lie in the grass. Mocha loves toys in a way rarely seen, which provides long periods of her entertaining herself. She is a great tennis ball catcher and is learning that she must drop it, then sit, then stay before another one is tossed. Even though Mocha is quite a gentle girl, it is recommended that she not be around younger children who value THEIR toys.

For a lower-energy dog who laps up attention and can play with tough-to-break toys all by her lonesome, Mocha is a delicious choice.
