Things To Know:

- Originally discovered in a ditch along a Mississippi road, unable to stand, walk or eat. Only days away from euthanisia, our rescue partner stepped up and took her in.
- When she first arrived to TLC, her spirit seemed a bit broken. She was very timid and unsure of the world around her. As she grew more comfortable in her foster home, she began to show her spunky personality. However, subtle signs of cognitive issues also began to emerge moments of imbalance, bumping into objects, blank stares, etc. Concerned for her well-being, we sought answers with our friends at VRC Malvern.
- After numerous diagnostic tests (MRI, Spinal Tap, PCR) adding up to over $4,000, it was confirmed that Miracle has atrophy of the brain. The damage was most likely caused by a previous infection, which originally left her unable to walk & eat. Miraculously, her little body began to heal itself all on it's own.
- Affectionately nicknamed Kitty or sometimes Chaos Kitty, becasue she has some cat-like tendencies with a whirlwind of personality
- She loves deeply and follows her foster mom everywhere, though she prefers interactions on her terms.
- Kitty has moments of confusion and disorientation, occasionally bumping into things and losing her footing. It doesn't slow her down, just a hiccup that makes her pause before continuing on with her day.
- When unsupervised, she stays in a crate or confined space due to both her cognitive issues and her puppy-like chewing habits.
- Initially extremely timid but improves each day with the help of her canine foster siblings
- She will require a patient & understanding adopter who will take it slow with her and help her through moments of disorientation. She may also benefit from another confident dog in the home.
- She is gradually learning to trust new people, although she remains skittish at times and timid in pretty much all new situations
- Engages with her foster family more and more over time, showing curiosity and playfulness
- In her foster home, she's bossy, busy, and vocal, rarely staying still for long
- Her talkative nature is both hysterical and endearing
- Bonds strongly to her person once comfortable
- Crate trained - eats and sleeps in her crate
- Now housebroken on a schedule, but will likely need a transition period in a new home.
- Kitty loves riding shotgun in the carit's one of her favorite activities.
- Enjoys playing with toys and does not discriminate
- Making great progress with walking on a leash
- Super food motivated and doing well with learning 'Sit'
- Dog friendly and requires the presence of another confident, playful dog(s)
- This tiny dog manages to boss around all the dogs, no matter their size, wooing them to play with her or telling them to leave her alone
- Cat friendly
- Did we mention she is also pig friendly and lives with pet pigs!?
- Requires a patient and understanding adopter, as it can be challenging to distinguish her timidity from her brain disorder.
