Ideal home: Mila would do well with people who have time for her and where someone is home most of the time, since she appreciates a lot of affection. She would likely do well in an apartment as long as she gets lots of exercise and mental stimulation. Although she is a bit nervous of certain city noises, she enjoys her walks and being outdoors. Mila enjoys having another dog in the home and would benefit from having one in her forever home to help her confidence.

Name: Mila
Age: Approximately 1 year old
Breed: Husky mix
Weight: 54lbs
Gender: Female
Energy level: Medium-high
Good with dogs: Mila loves to play with her foster sister who is a similar size and she seems to like having a dog companion. She went into heat when she arrived in our care so her interactions with other dogs have been limited.
Good with cats: Unknown
Good with kids (+ ages): 6+
Good with strangers: Mila may bark initially, especially if people are masked or wearing hats, but after a proper introduction she is friendly and affectionate.
Guarding issues: She will occasionally display some guarding of her high value treats.
Behavioural issues: No
House trained: Yes, if taken out regularly
Crate trained: Mila is getting more comfortable with her crate, she sleeps in there at night and has been spending more time in the crate with the door open. She used to cry when crated during the day but is improving and settles after about 5 minutes.
Separation anxiety: None seen. She's been left at home (with another dog) for up to 6 hours with no issues.
Destructive: No, but she is still a puppy and may try to chew things she shouldn't. As long as she has a toy or something to occupy her, she is well behaved.
Leash skills: She is still nervous on the street with the the city noises (buses and loud cars) and she pulls at times but is responsive to correction. She tends to pull more at the beginning of her walks when she is excited, but relaxes during the walk.
Okay with manipulations: Yes
Medical issues: None.
Other notes such as overall observations, personality, etc: She is playful, affectionate and always asks for a daily dose of care and love. Mila is very intelligent and enjoys mental stimulation just as much as play time with her foster sister and her walks. She picks up training and commands quickly and her fosters describe her as the most loving dog they have ever met!
