Meet Midas
~~Although we do our very best to make sure your new pup is in tiptop health before adoption,
things could drastically change a month later. Since we don't have a long health history of your
adopted dog, we can only treat the pet for whatever symptoms present during the initial exam
and follow up exams.~
Health: Midas was extremely emaciated when he came into the rescue. He's had alot of stuff to recover from. We feel he is in a good place now. The following is the run down on all his meds.
These two meds he will take every day: Mycophenolate (autoimmune), Joint supplement. Every other day he takes the following meds: Cyclosporine (antibiotic), Carafate (ulcer prevention from Pred), Prednisolone (Steroid). These two meds are as needed: Adequan injection (joint/inflammation), Amantadine (pain). Our Vet recommends a blood panel be done about every two months or so just to stay on top of everything. Hopefully, after a while, he can come off of some of this medication.

Temperament:
Midas is a sweet boy estimated to be around 8 to 10 years old. He has been fully vetted and is micro chipped. He was brought into the vet clinic in very grim condition. Unfortunately, he was not taken care of with his previous owners, and he was starved and very very sick. With some TLC over the last few months all this boy is thriving now! He will need to be on some medications the rest of his life to maintain his health. But he is happy, healthy, and very loving. He will need to be in a home with other small dogs or by himself because he does not get along with bigger dogs or cats. He loves to play outside in the sun and loves his treats! --
Where did he come from: Stray at the Dallas Shelter
