Meet Mia

Mia is an ~8 year old, ~6 pound Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix who came to Michigan all the way from Texas. She was rescued from a hoarding situation where she was one of many dogs living in an outside pen. She was skinny and malnourished, had skin issues and hair loss, and was heartworm positive. She has since been treated and is thriving on a healthy diet.

Mia is sweet natured but not super cuddly or snuggly with humans. She will come over when she would like to be pet, but prefers a comfy dog bed over someone’s lap. Once she’s comfortable, her funny personality shines!

Mia does great with dogs of all sizes, but definitely prefers the bigger pups. She will definitely need a home with another dog, as they provide her with the safety and comfort she desires. She previously stayed in a home with a cat with no issues.

Mia is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed, and recently had a dental (March 2024). All Midwest dogs are required to be on year round heartworm preventative, but this is especially important for Mia as she continues to recover from her heartworm.

Mia’s adoption fee is $375.
