Meet Mia

Get ready to fall in love with adorable Mia! This sweet 10-year-old lady is a little lovebug who just wants to spend time right by your side. Mia loves to take walks with our volunteers and when she realized that they carry treats for her in their pockets, she loved the walks even more! This little puggle loves a tasty snack! Mia has been spending the past few days in a loving foster care home where we had sent her for some time out of the shelter while we awaited the results of a biopsy done during her dental surgery earlier this month. Her foster dad sends pictures of her lounging by the chair and playing out in the yard.

Unfortunately, the biopsy results came back to show that Mia has terminal cancer and we are now looking for a hospice adopter to give Mia as much love, compassion, and care as possible during the late stages of her life. Though this is very difficult news, we know that the right person is out there, ready to take Mia in and give her all of the tasty snacks, toys, and cuddles that she wants, because this girl deserves it. Mia is a sweet, loving pup who would do well in a home with people who are able to give her plenty of attention and love. Her former owners said that she would occasionally have accidents inside, but she has been doing really well in her foster home where they take her out regularly so that she doesn't have accidents. As we mentioned before, Mia is a bit of a gourmet and would love a home where she will get plenty of tasty treats and meals! Sometimes she finds herself in the trashcans with that big appetite, so her new family should be sure to secure those and keep them out of reach and then, boom- problem solved! Mia has lived with both cats and children in the past and would do just fine in a home with them with proper introductions. We also think Mia would do well in a home with calm/friendly dogs who are on the smaller side, as she enjoyed playing with the petite pups here at the shelter. If you are looking to give Mia a loving, happy home during her final chapter, please reach out by phone or email and we would be happy to discuss further with you.

Our shelter is running by appointment only. If you are interested in this pet, please call us at 978-452-7781 or email info@lowellhumanesociety.org to request an adoption application.
