Meet Maxwell
Breed: Elkhound Mix
Age: 8 years old
Weight: 55 lbs.
Good with Dogs: Yes
Good with Cats: Will Chase
Good with Kids: Older Kids Only
Energy: Medium
Adoptable Maxwell is looking for a new home! Maxwell has spent most of his life with a family. He was rescued as a puppy after being found chained to a shed. Unfortunately for Maxwell, the family dynamics changed. Maxwell's human baby brother was born autistic.
Now, as a mobile toddler, the son finds living with a dog to be overwhelming. Likewise, Maxwell seemed to be a bit overwhelmed by the fast-moving hands and feet and high-pitched voice of the little one, so the family was forced to make the heartbreaking decision to find a new home for him.
Maxwell is an 8 year old Elkhound mix and is about 60 pounds. Since coming into rescue he has been on a diet and is looking to shed some of those lbs. He is great with dogs of all sizes, just likes to coexist with them mostly. He is totally housebroken and clearly very food driven. He loves tug and a couple rounds of fetch (he can only do so much still) but mostly wants to lounge and be pet all day!
Max is just an easy going potato looking for a new home. If you might be interested or know anyone else who may be, please feel free to apply for him at
