MARU Great Dane & Bloodhound Mix Carroll, OH

Maru is a goofy, energetic lady who forgets her large size from time to time but really is just a gentle giant. Maru was an emaciated stray that was picked up by animal control after being on her own for awhile. Her physical condition was suggestive of a rough life - lots of calluses, full of intestinal parasites, and a saggy undercarriage not to mention being absolutely terrified of a leash and collar. We’ve come a long way though in a short time and gorgeous gal is now crate trained and housebroken, loves to ride in the car, thinks she is a lap dog at the most awkward times, and just wants your approval. While she is very strong, she is very responsive to training and is doing great with just a harness and positive reinforcement. She is great with other dogs and loves kids but no cats!! We estimate Maru to be 4years or so. She is a thin 72lbs (needs to gain at least another 10lbs) and either a very poorly bred Great Dane or possible Dane/Bloodhound mix. Adoption fee $300

Any vaccinations/boosters due after adoption is finalized will be the new owner's responsibility. All animals are current at time of adoption but in some cases a booster series is required or a vaccine cannot be given due to age and cannot be completed prior to adoption

Our adoptable animals come to us from various sources, the most common being from an animal shelter who is unable to handle their physical or mental needs in the shelter setting but believe with the appropriate care, they can become adoptable. Adoption fees vary based on age, needs and sponsoring.
