Meet Mariah

Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but will contact the one that is a good match within 3-5 days.
Update 4/12/21, please note that we are still accepting applications on this pup as we have not found her perfect home, if you have already applied, are ready to adopt and your application fits the criteria below, please drop us an email at pupsandpalsrescue@yahoo.com so we can take another look. If you have not applied yet, please apply.
Mariah is a female Great Pyrenees (mix?) pup. We say a mix as she is on the smaller side and has more gray on her coat then normal for the breed. She will still likely be in the 50-60 lb range but of course we cannot promise, she is just under 30 lbs at 4 months. Mariah is loving, sweet, attentive and so cute. This breed is known for being confident, independent thinkers and protective of their property. She should not go to a home with children under 5 and will not be a good apartment dog, as this breed tends to be vocal when protective as they are property guardians. You can already tell that she is very smart and in the right home with the right socialization she will be incrediable. No first time pet owners for this pup, this is a more challenging breed.
We are looking for a home that:
*Has another medium to large/young/sweet dog as a playmate
*Has a yard, not a patio but an actual yard where she can do her roaming with a secure fence of at least 5'.
*Has recent herding/working dog experience
*Someone is home during the day (post COVID too)
*Has time and patience for a large puppy that is to smart for her own good, she will challenge you.
*No small children (under 5) as she is mouthy and no dogs that will be annoyed by a teething puppy (example super seniors or tiny purse dogs).
She is not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. If you do not live within a 2 hr drive of Orange County, please do not apply.
If you are interested in adopting one of our rescues, please visit our main website for adoption procedures at www.pupsandpals.net and then fill out our application. Please note that we are all volunteers so it may take up to 3 days to process your application, but you will hear back from us if your application is a good match for the pet.
We do not have a shelter so individual appointments must be made to meet the pet you are interested in. Our pets are fostered/boarded all over LA and Orange County.
This pet is altered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has had a brief temperament evaluation to help us determine what type of a home he/she would thrive in. Please note that we put lots of time and effort to make sure our pets are ready to be someone's perfect pet before they go home.... and to make sure that we will have the best possible match for this pet we do require an : application, interview, adoption fee and in some case a home check.
Listed for adoption: 3/19/21
Adoption fee:
PLEASE DO NOT call or email to see if a pet is available. We update our pages daily so if he/she is pictured here in the available dogs section, we are accepting applications at this time.
