Meet Maddie

Born Oct. 2011, Maddie is our little Miss Cutie Patootie! She is a short and stocky with so much personality. She is guaranteed to make you smile every day. Maddie has a flirtatious personality, but she needs time to develop trust before you may reciprocate affection. She is called a little miss spitfire because she is a tough independent little cookie full of sass. She loves her crate where she feels safe & hanging outside supervising everyone and everything.

Maddie is happy laying around on her doggy bed and being in the same room as you. Don't let that adorable teddy bear look & flirtatious personality fool you, she loves the attention without the affection.

Maddie sits nicely to put her collar on before going on a walk. She also rides well in the car but generally speaking, Maddie doesn't just do things willingly, which is why rewards-based training works best. She likes to protest a little bit just enough, so she feels like she had a choice.

She does not like other dogs but can be around them. If given the chance she will let other dogs know she is boss and that's why we recommend her as being the only dog in the home. When you are out on a walk, she won't get upset seeing another dog as long as they are behaving. She isn't dog-aggressive but won't back down from a challenge either.

Maddie was debarked as a pup, so she doesn't have her 'woo-woo' but don't let that stop you from giving this girl her second chance. She has a limited ingredient diet --- salmon only protein and fat.

Or visit ***CHAAMP.org*** to access the Adoption/Foster link and learn about the process. https://www.chaamp.org/adoption-process

Your application tells us about your lifestyle and helps us find a potential match for you and your family. We are happy to work with you. For example, if you don't have a fence, we can help find alternatives and/or a dog that will do well without a fence.

A home visit is required prior to adoption/fostering. You can visit the malamute(s) once you've completed the process. Alternatively, you may volunteer and learn how rewards-based training brings out the best in malamutes.

CHAAMP accepts applications from Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington DC.
