Meet Mack

MARR covers Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Wisconsin. Mack is being fostered in NE currently. However, transportation is available for adoptions within our coverage area. Mack is a handsome, (almost)4-year-old, neutered gentle giant. He good with both men and women after proper introductions. He hasn't had a lot of experience with children but he met his Foster's grandson and did great! We think he will do best with children over 12.
In the shelter, Mack did great with all dogs, big and small...he even was gentle with puppies. He preferred females and non-reactive males. With his Foster, Mack can be reactive with other dogs through the fence but is easily redirected. We feel that he will do fine with a female dog or non-reactive male dog with slow, and proper introductions. Mack does not have experience with cats in his Foster home but was reactive with cats in the shelter, we do not recommend he goes to a home with cats.
Mack is a playful boy! He loves bones, tennis balls, playing fetch and his squeaky toys! This Good Boy loves all treats-even Veggies. His Foster tells us he is a big baby and loves attention from his humans. He is a true Velcro dog and does the typical "Rottie Lean" just wanting to be loved on. Mack has a cute, expressive face and wags his nubbin all the time. He is good on a leash but could use more training to work on his pulling. His Foster recommends he be muzzle trained for Vet visits to keep him safe.
Mack is house trained and crate trained, he knows a few basic commands like "sit" and very patiently will show you his "stay," especially as he waits to be fed. He is food-motivated and will take treats gently (as a Good Boy should). He will entertain himself and sleep when he isn't getting attention but if you're up and moving, he will be sure to stick by your side. If you are ready to open your home to a gentle giant with a cute, squishy face always at your side and ready for all the pets and loving you can share, Mack is your boy!
