Mabel (in foster) Pit Bull Terrier Mix Petersburg, VA

Miss Mabel is looking for her forever home!
She's 10 years young and spent her whole life on a chain before she came to the shelter. This affectionate girl deserves a warm, cozy home to spend the rest of her happy days.

She went into an amazing foster home for a trial, and they and we both were hoping it could become a foster to adopt situation. Sadly, Miss Mabel is not a fan of the current kitty cat residents and would prefer a home without roomies of the feline persuasion!

Despite that new revelation, her wonderful foster family, who does not want her returned to the shelter, is going to continue to work with her and gather more intel on this sweet, spry senior in the hopes that a better suited permanent adoptive home (without cats) can be found!!

What we know is that although the felines are not her fave, she absolutely loves loves loves the kiddos!! Her foster mom says she is so gentle with them and takes treats oh so sweetly. She just loves hanging out with the family and going for walks in the neighborhood, she is so good on leash and still has plenty of pep in that step!

She lets them know when it’s time to go potty, and she will hang in the crate, but it’s not her favorite place, cause that’s not where the people are!!!
She does like to play with other dogs, just needs a slow, proper introduction preferably outside and then the fun begins! She can be a vocal player and she can be a bit bossy with the younger whippersnappers, but it’s just to let them know that seniors always rule!

Her amazing foster family just loves her, they are so disappointed they couldn’t be the ones for her, but say she would make an amazing addition to just about any family, unfortunately the kitty cats were there first! lol ? Either way we're all so grateful to them for getting to know her and setting her up for success. Miss Mabel is so fortunate to be showered with all the love while she patiently waits for her forever home!
