Luna German Shepherd Dog Mix Seattle, WA

Animal Profile: Luna is an estimated 4 year old 60 lb spayed female German Shepherd who was surrendered to our rescue partner in Texas when her humans got divorced. She has lived with other dogs and cats and kids and loves everybody. More info as we get to know her in foster care.

Foster Update: Luna is a mellow, sweet, gentle girl. She is clearly well trained and knows "crate", "sit", and "paw", and will join us on the couch only when invited. She doesn't beg for food or counter surf. She is snuggly, but like a GSD is also independent and will get up from cuddling to go sleep in her crate or to look out the window. She comes whenever I call her and follows me devotedly around the house with a wagging tail. She walks well on a leash. She was nervous at first on walks when she saw new people or dogs, but her confidence has been blooming since she has settled in. She will benefit from a confident handler to give her support in this area. She is very respectful of our cat, is doing well with our resident dog, and loves to play. True to her breed, she can get a little mouthy when she is excited and playing so she will need a family who understands this behavior. Luna is also completely potty-trained and quiet in her crate. Someone will be very lucky to adopt this sweet, well-mannered girl!

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. History: Luna was transferred from AARC in Texas arriving to Seattle area foster care via God's Dogs transport on 3/8/24. She will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.
