Meet Luna, a 7-month-old, 8lb female Shihpoo ready to leap into your heart and home! Luna's story began with a loving family, but unexpectedly difficult circumstances for her family led her to Just Paws. This sweet pup is on a quest for a patient and committed family who understands the importance of readiness for a puppy. It's crucial to recognize that puppies, like Luna, require time, effort, and consistency.

Luna has been through a lot of change in her young life so her initial reaction to new people and things is to bark and growl. So while she lived with children before, only families with dog savvy kids will be considered (who won’t get in her face right away and will allow her time to warm up). Families also need to be aware that she may bark and growl at your guests so while we hope this will change as she gets better socialized and confident, if you can’t accept that this may just be her personality, she’s not the match for you. Once Luna trusts you, however, she is completely full of love. She loves to be snuggled and give kisses. She loves to put her paws on your shoulders and gaze into your eyes. She’s an absolute delight!

Because Luna does like to express herself through barking, to set her up for success, we are recommending she live in a single family home or a condo /home with shared walls that are thicker. Luna is enjoying the experience of running in a backyard. She loves being outside and walks and playing. She’s having a blast with her toys. Luna does need to be reminded which things are toys and which aren’t but a dog safe house will ensure she’s only playing with and chewing on any things she’s supposed to! Luna is also a dog in the furniture kind of girl - cuddles on the couch and sleeping in your bed are non- negotiable!

Luna is doing brilliantly with housetraining! While she will have accidents, she prefers to do her business outside. As she is a young puppy and because of her past, we don’t want Luna to be alone too long so her family needs to be one that has the ability to spend lots of time with her or will use doggy daycare.

Luna is dog friendly and is playful with other dogs once she warms up to them - initially she is fearful of dogs bigger than her. We are not sure how she will be with cats but imagine a dog friendly cat may be ok.

Luna is a smart playful girl eager to engage in positive reinforcement training, turning every moment into a bonding opportunity.
