Luke Greyhound & Belgian Shepherd / Malinois Mix Inver Grove Heights, MN

Luke joined us with his brothers, sisters and mama from South Korea! He was rescued from the meat trade by Candy Cane Rescue and Animal Rescue Korea was brought to MNGR. He’s now safe and sound in our care. A DNA test on Luke's brother showed that Luke and his siblings are 50% Belgian Malinois, 38% Greyhound, and 12% either Deerhound, Wolfhound, or Borzoi…!

Luke is very sweet, very smart, but also VERY VERY SHY. He’s looking for someone who will give him time and understanding while he learns that the world is not a scary place. He follows whatever his brothers do and is most comfortable in their company. He’d do great in a home with another dog who can show him the ropes and who wouldn’t mind his puppy antics. He does love to play! Once Luke trusts you, he will almost certainly be a snuggle bug! Right now he is especially attached to his "foster dad" at the adoption kennel, and 13-year-old boy here who likes to hang out quietly with him in his kennel.

Luke can jump a 5-foot fence. We are ONLY CONSIDERING homes for Luke that have a minimum 6-foot fence. We are ONLY CONSIDERING shy-dog experienced homes for Luke. Luke needs an experienced person who can keep him safe and help him learn about the world. He would benefit greatly from a shy-dog socialization class. Eventually, he would be a good jogging partner or even do well at dog sports. These guys are very smart! Luke's siblings are doing great in their new homes and coming out of their shells. Luke needs his chance. He is an adorable boy who has a lot of love to give.
