Meet Lucy

Lucy is a 16-month-old Chiweenie with a sweet and affectionate personality. She loves to show her affection by "tail hugging" your arm when she snuggles next to you. Lucy came to SDR when her owner moved to Florida and could not take her. She is house trained and communicates her need to go out by staring at you and giving a little yelp (this could also mean she is hungry). Lucy is very bright and might benefit from using a talk mat (search the internet for "dog buttons for communication"). Lucy will be a great companion for adults and dog savvy kids (she is nervous with little kids who are not dog savvy). She is not crate trained and has free roam when she is left alone. Lucy loves to play with her step siblings in her foster home and loves many long walks every day.

Lucy has been completely vetted and is ready to be adopted. The adoption fee is $350 + MN sales tax.

- You must fill out an adoption application before you are allowed to meet the animal. Please complete the adoption application located on our website: https://smalldogsminnesota.org/adoption-application/

- Small Dog Rescue of MN does not negotiate the adoption fee on our dogs and we must charge sales tax on all adoption fees in order to comply with Minnesota state law. Please note that SDR is philosophically opposed to the idea of buying and selling animals, and we support any future legislation that would remove sales tax from adoption fees. Until then, however, it must be charged.

- Please note that we do not have a shelter, and all dogs are in foster homes. Since we strive to provide the best possible care for our animals, sometimes we cannot answer emails promptly. Please allow 48 hours for us to respond to you.

- You must be 18 years of age to make an adoption request.
