Lola is a super sweet mini Australian Shepherd who is available for adoption and we have an updated post for her!
Lola is 3 years old, she weighs just 23 pounds, and she has a fluffy red merle coat. She is housebroken, crate-trained, and she knows her basic obedience commands. Lola is working on her leash-walking skills as she still wants to pull when she is walking in new exciting environments - she loves all the smells! She also loves to go for rides in the car – she is the perfect travel companion!
Lola came to us with a very serious but very old break in her front right leg and she underwent an amputation of that leg. Lola is fully healed, she has not missed a beat, and she is as cute, happy and lively as ever!
Lola loves people, and she is pretty sure that all humans were born to fall in love with her! This high Velcro girl is all about love, attention and belly rubs. Lola also enjoys the company of other dogs, and when it comes to other dogs she is more of a peaceful coexister than super playful. She would rather hang out or walk alongside another dog than wrestle. Lola is a low-to-medium energy girl who enjoys exploring the yard, running a few laps with her dog pals and playing fetch with her foster mom. And as much as Lola enjoys outdoor fun, she really LOVES to snuggle with her humans, take long naps, and just hang out. Lola does chase cats.
The ideal family for Lola is easy-going, patient, ready to smile and ready to be adored by this little sweetie. It is important that someone is home at least part of every day because Lola lives to love her people, but they will also need to have patience with this little girl as she learns to trust that she will not be in pain when they touch her or pick her up. Lola was in pain for so long that she is still learning that people can hold her and it does not hurt anymore. A fenced yard is required, another easy-going dog is fine but not required, and any children in the home should be at least 12 years old.
