Loki American Staffordshire Terrier & Terrier Mix Houston, TX

My name is Loki. 5 years ago I was found wandering the streets, a bit beat up after a ton of water fell from the sky and a car hit me. They called it “Harvey”. A man found me and I jumped right into his car and I was so relieved, I fell asleep almost instantly. I was happy. I was safe, loved and cared for and all of my owies went away. A few months later I went to live with a new family, that I thought was my forever family. Turns out that wasn’t the case. At first I was so happy! But eventually, it turns out they really didn’t have time for me and it made me eat a lot and get really nervous around loud noises and pushy dogs we met on walks. One day, my old foster dad came to pick me up. I guess my family didn’t want me anymore. I was sad and scared. He hugged me and told me it would be ok. I then went to live with this great team of people that helped me so much! They showed me that I didn’t need to be nervous and that I could play and be happy again. I also lost some weight, so my joints don’t hurt so much any more and I can go on longer walks without getting out of breath so quickly.

I’m known to be lovable and sweet. I won’t do well around young children because they run around a lot making loud noises and it makes me nervous. I would be happier in a calmer household where I can get all the attention I need to thrive. I’m fine with other dogs, just as long as they don’t growl at me. I’m also good with cats. I’m about 6 years old now, neutered, heartworm negative and crate trained. I walk great on a leash and would love to go on long walks. I just want to be important , and an active part of a family that will this time, love me and keep me forever and ever.
