Logan is 5 years old, 70 lbs. He is super sweet but very strong. He is not good with other dogs

Meet Logan. He is a very sweet people dog, but needs to be an only pet.

Logan has had quite a journey and is looking for his happily ever after. Back in February of 2020, he wandered up on a good Samaritan’s porch looking for help. He was emaciated and had healing wounds on his tale and legs that the vet thought were indicative of falling from a vehicle on asphalt.

Logan quickly went to a foster where he got the care and rehabilitation he needed for several months. We quickly learned what a love bug he is and how much he loves people. He is a big cuddle bug at about 70 pounds, he’s goofy and doesn’t know his size. He’s estimated to be 4-5 years old.

He loves hikes but he loves being a coach potato just as well. He’s enjoyed trips to the mountains and sailing on the lake. He is crate trained, house trained and knows basic commands.

As noted, he needs to be an only pet. He does not know how to interact with other dogs, and gets overly excited, which can lead to problems with another. When on walks, if he sees another dog, he becomes fixated and barks excitedly. While in foster care, we worked with a trainer to help with this. It was working well, but training needs to be consistent.

In October, Logan thought he found his forever home. However, his training was not continued in his new environment and the progress he had made slipped away and his new owner wanted a dog that could run and play with other dogs. So Logan is being returned and needs another chance with someone who wants an only pet and is interested in continuing the simple training methods we’ve learned.

While Logan is best without other animals (cats or dogs), he is good with pretty much all people. He’s great with kids. However due to his size and strength, he’s probably best with children 10 and up.
