Little Girl

This sweetheart is just as cute as she can be! She is housebroken, pee pad trained, and crate trained. She knows her basic commands. She can walk nicely on a leash. She gets along with other dogs and loves her humans! Little Girl still has a bit of insecurity and can end up with a submissive pee incident at greetings and with high excitement. The best solution for this, in addition to ongoing training, is to limit all greetings to outside. This means that when you get home and remove her from her crate, you don't touch her, talk to her, or engage her until you are outdoors!

Little Girl loves to chew on a nylabone or bully stick! She enjoys squeaky toys, as well! She plays like a maniac with her foster siblings, but does need continued monitoring for appropriate play- she doesn't always get the cues of other dogs on when play is over or unwanted. She will need guidance in this area.

When on walks Little Girl does great with handlers that require she walk politely by their side. When allowed to go where she wants when she wants and do what she wants when she wants- well, she wants to run after the squirrel and leap at other dogs while barking wildly with joy. If you love this behavior, please look for another dog, since we are seeking a home that believes in training a well-mannered and polite member of our society.

Please note that Little Girl is a young dog that requires ongoing training. If you do not believe dogs need training, believe dogs should do as they please, or believe dogs should never be told no, then she is not the dog for you. If you believe dogs need training and guidance to feel secure, believe all dogs need to know basic commands, believe dogs that are offered guidance and leadership are more confident and secure, and believe all dogs need to know how to walk politely on a leash, then please apply for this dog!

We aren't sure how to explain Little Girl. She is adorable and sweet. She gets along great with other dogs and loves people. AND she can look and sound like a snarling demon dog with new people and dogs! We have not seen aggressive behaviors, such as biting, but in the wrong hands she could certainly learn. Again, we are seeking a family that believes in obedience training and good behavior that is patient and willing to take the time needed to shore up her missing socialization and training!
