Meet Lilly (Updated Bio)
Lilly came to us paralyzed from IVDD but her back legs have since started to wake up and she;s standing and taking a few wobbly steps. We expect her to get her mobility back!
She is now doing regular hydrotherapy and laser/acupuncture and can move her legs a little and is starting to push off. Her weight has been slowing down progress a little bit but she is on a reduced diet and is walking in her chair for exercise. Her x-rays look good as far as not being overly concerning.
We are looking for a committed home who can continue her physical therapy, weight loss regiment and hydrotherapy so she can hopefully walk normally again. She has deep pain sensation in her feet and is showing all the right signals that she can get better, We are even willing to help with rehabilitation costs for the right home. Currently, we are still expressing her bladder manually. It's easy to learn and we're happy to train someone. Eventually, we hope he regains control of her bladder as she improves (but it can't be promised this will be restored).
Lilly loves kids and enjoys other dogs a lot. She likes to play growl with her toys and is very goofy. She will also growl when she wants a treat, a toy or your attention-she is incredibly endearing and lovable! She lives for tug of war. She does have some separation anxiety, so would do best in a home environment instead of a shared wall living environment.
Lilly is vaccinated and spayed. She will soon get bloodwork at our vet and have a dental scheduled at our vet that the rescue will pay for.
You won't regret adding this spunky and sweet little lady to your forever family-hope you like kisses!
