Li’l Bit & Benji Chihuahua Mix Kings park, NY

This duo is seeking a forever home not because the world has failed them, but on the contrary...because they have been so loved by a family. Benji's mom brought him to live with her sister and his daughter when she became ill. After she passed Benji remained with her sister and his daughter Lil Bit. Although her own health was rapidly declining their owner fought to stay in her home to love and take care of this duo until she realized she was not only no longer able to care for them, but that she was not able to give them the happiness and quality of life they deserved to have. Her own health had declined to a point of being bed ridden w an aid coming in to change the newspapers for the dogs and bringing her food. As someone who had followed Barking Back Rescue and watched our fosters stories, and updates on their lives she made the ultimate decision for this duo. She contacted one of our fosters and explained she had been refusing to go into a nursing home because she was unable to leave her babies but has realized her quality of life is far less than they deserve. Out of pure love and wanting to see her babies playing outside, and panting from running around, and smiling from happiness she surrendered them to Barking Back and has now been moved to a nursing home. Her love continues as she calls to check on them and misses them but is at peace knowing they are happy and playing and living great dog lives. This duo is looking for their forever to fill their hearts with love and smiles and give them happy lives.

Benji is approximately 10 years old. He is vision challenged and has had his front teeth removed. This has only made him even sillier and fun to be around. He loves to cuddle and be right by your side following you anywhere. He's still an active guy and is ready to wrestle and show off his goofy side. Lil bit is about 5. She loves to play fetch and tug of war. She's down for some good times on the couch watching a movie and up for a chasing balls as fast as you can throw them. Neither have been around small children. They are both adjusting very well to potty outside but have been using newspapers and pee pads for the past 2 years.
