Leo - adopted! Border Collie Duluth, MN

Leo finds his way into your heart the minute you meet him. Described as a Love Bug, this little cutie has personality for days. He is a typical Border Collie: charming, smart energetic and fun. Born in mid-November 2023, currently 14# and likely to mature around 40-45#.

His days are filled with running, playing, keeping tabs on the resident kitties and exploring the world around him. Leo has typical puppy energy until it’s time for a nap on a soft bed, Leo has a lovely off switch, able to relax in the house. He adapts well to new environments, thinking a little before diving in. It’s a treat to watch him solve a problem at his young age.

Leo is seeking an active family or person who can become his world, indulging his love for learning with obedience classes and a full life. He demonstrates a budding instinct for herding and may have an affinity for activities like agility or other dog sports. He wants regular daily exercise for his mind and his body. Whatever he does, as long as he’s with his people, Leo will be happy.

Playful with other dogs. Would be fine in a single dog household. Gentle and curious about cats. He was excited to meet kids (ages 8 & 10). He could do well in a family with young children where the adults have solid herding breed experience. We would love him to have a fenced yard to run puppy zoomies, and families with a history of keeping dogs safe on leash will also be considered.

Leo's amazing foster family is exposing him to positive experiences, including working on basic commands, leash work, crate training and even nail trims. He is on the path to becoming a well-behaved and loving companion with limitless potential to be the best sidekick ever. He is easy to train because he wants to please his family (and he loves treats).

As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Our puppy adoption fee is $500 + MN sales tax. Puppies are microchipped and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. Leo will be neutered at approximately 6 months of age. The cost of this procedure is included in his adoption fee.
