Hello to my future forever family,

My name is LEIA, and I am thrilled to introduce myself as the newest addition to the Just Paws family. My journey started in less than ideal circumstances, but thanks to a kind family, I now have the opportunity for a brighter future. They rescued me from a neglectful environment, where my original owners traded me for a chest of drawers at a market. Now, I'm on the lookout for a loving home where I can be cherished, protected, and loved.

I recently had a thorough checkup at the vet, where I received vaccinations, a microchip, and was spayed – I was a very good girl throughout it all. The vet says I am healthy, approximately one year old, and weigh 17lbs. We believe I am a Schnauzer/terrier mix, but I'd love to hear your thoughts. Before my vet appointment, I had a much-needed grooming session, transforming me from a scraggly, dirty mess to a beautiful girl. Don't you think I look stunning?

Since arriving at my amazing foster family's home, I've blossomed into an outgoing, loving, and friendly pup who adores cuddling. I've conquered my fear of walks and now enjoy strolling on a leash. I even joined in on a Super Bowl party – a bit nervous at first, but I quickly settled in with the people. I do love being with my humans, so I may not enjoy being left alone for too long. I will sleep quietly in my crate at night until you let me out in the morning. Just a heads up, I do shed, so if you have allergies, I might not be the right fit for you. My house training is making progress – I do my business on my morning walks, plus I know to use the pee pad!

My ideal home would have a secure fenced yard where I can play and run around. It would be perfect if my family is home most of the time, and another dog in the house would be fine. I should be OK with children, as long as they are dog-savvy and respectful. My foster mom says I deserve a family that will cherish and love me – and I couldn't agree more. Despite the challenges in my young life, I am hopeful that my forever family will find me soon. As stated prior, I have only been with my foster family for a short time so as I continue to blossom stay tuned for updates – I’m sure they will continue to be wonderful and won’t disappoint my new potential family. I hope you will give me a chance!
