Laurel Doberman Pinscher Harahan, LA

Sweet "Laurel" as we like to call her is an aproximately four-year-old female, natural eared Doberman. We pulled her from an area shelter with a male doberman from the same home. Laurel was extremely emaciated, heart-worm positive and has scarring on her face, evidence that she had been attacked numerous times by other dogs. She had obviously also had multiple litters of puppies. Our guess is the backyard breeders opted to keep a new younger female for their money making venture and kicked Laurel to the curb. Laurel is such a sweet girl and so happy for every little comfort she has been given. She gets along great with all the other dogs in her foster home, so we know that the fights she has been in were not attributable to her. She was likely trying to protect her own puppies. Whatever her story, it's all in the past. Laurel is now almost completely finished with her heart-worm treatment, the last step before going to a new home. In addition, Laurel has been spayed is up-to-date on shots microchipped and crate trained. Best of all, if you have treats in your pocket, she will wear a silly hat for you.
