Laney Terrier Mix Covington, WA

2-year-old female Terrier mix, about 25 pounds.

Laney is a sweet girl who is eager to find her family! She loves meeting people and gets along with other pets once she has a little time to get oriented, but it would be best if they were her size or a bit bigger. She has lived with a cat in her foster home and did fine. Laney is very pretty, with her beautiful, black-tipped coat and perky ears and face, and she loves being brushed, which is good because she does shed. Laney is a little nervous about the big world out there and looks to her people to make sure she doesn't have anything to worry about. She loves to snuggle and is a little bit pushy about wanting to be right next to or on you, so she needs help minding her manners and not dominating the space. She tends to jump when she is excited, which we keep working on, and she should be supervised with kids under 12 for now. Laney is good on her walks and does best with quiet streets and situations while she's managing a new living situation but is a good walking companion. She is very good having quiet time in her kennel and loves her meals and snacks. After being rescued from the roadside, she is becoming a happy-go-lucky girl who would love to know that she belongs to someone and can be part of their family.

Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
