Meet Lambeau

♥ Special Boy ♥

LAMBEAU ~ neutered purebred Golden Retriever, 4 years old, 90 lbs

LAMBEAU loves people, dogs, the outdoors and lives well with cats.
His person had a job change requiring weekly travel so Lambeau spent most of his life in boarding. Through years of minimal activity, and an underlying mobility issue, Lambeau could barely walk when he came to us.

We moved Lambeau into a foster home with other dogs, and senior Golden experience (even though not a senior, Lambeau was presenting as one). They immediately put him on Glucosamine supplements and started getting him up and around. He is gaining strength and enjoys playing with the fosters Great Pyrenees, and loves being out in the yard with their dogs. Lambeau does great with the cats and dogs and wants to be wherever the family is.

We took him to the FVRH for a diagnosis and recommendation for future treatment. Without sending him to Madison for a $2,000 MRI, the Dr. could not be certain what Lambeau’s situation is but suspects it could be neurological, guessing it is between C6 to T2 (bottom neck to shoulder blades). He adds: it is not inhumane to leave Lambeau as is. He is not in pain or discomfort, his vitals are good, he is sweet and happy and gaining strength through supplements and exercise. His elbows are arthritic but the supplement helps. He does not recommend medication at this point as anti-inflammatories and pain meds are not needed at this time. As he ages, he may benefit from steroids. But at this time, he is improving.

If your home can provide Lambeau with love, companionship (hopefully a canine buddy), activity throughout the day (we'd prefer he not be alone for a full workday), an easy access home (steps are hard for Lambeau), and the desire to provide Lambeau with a wonderful and loving family, please email us at dogs@savingpaws.com.
