Meet Koda - Foster to Adopt Available!

Meet Koda!
Male, Neutered, Mix Breed
DOB 5/22/18

Koda is a sweet and friendly boy who is seeking a forever family. He was previously adopted from Safe Haven. Koda is a good boy and is friendly with all humans. He loves his family and wants to protect them. He is housebroken, up to date on vaccines, and an overall big lug. Jere is what his family has to say about him:
What he is good at:
He is super friendly and loves people.
He is great at snuggling, loving, and giving kisses
He loves taking long walks - he can go forever.
He is content lounging on the couch all day after a walk.
He doesn't eat more than he needs- not a hog.
Loves to play with chew toys and entertains himself nicely with one.
He is protective and keeps watch for us all.

His naughty traits:
He loves to bark at cars and people walking by.
He does not like to be disturbed or startled when he is sleeping - best to wake him up slow and sweetly so he doesn't get grumpy.
He can tear up a kong in 5 minutes - lots of dog toys needed!
He can be found licking his paws if he isn't given salmon oil and a digestive aid on a regular basis.
He gets excited and often jumps on people when he first meets them (but he does settle down and can be downright sweet).
He loves to climb into your lap - often selecting the least likely person for this honor!

If you would like to know more about Koda, please complete an application. He is also available for our foster to adopt program. This allows you to welcome him to your home for a week or two. At that point your family can choose to adopt Koda or continue fostering until he finds his forever family.

Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping.

We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. An application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee adoption but does allow us to begin the review process.

Please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org for an application or additional details.

Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.

Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to refuse adoption of any dog or puppy to any applicant (adopter) for any reason.

Please consider becoming a foster home while you search for your new best friend. We need foster homes - pounds are overflowing with puppies and adult dogs that are at-risk and need help. We can only rescue as many as we have foster home commitments. Fostering is a rewarding experience for your family.
