Even though Kirby is still a pup, the Humane Society bark park excursion turned into the best adventure of his young life. The usual exploration of the seemingly boundless expanse of the playground, the myriad of sniffs and squirrels to chase, and the freedom to venture anywhere you want with joyful abandon opened even more opportunities for 5-month-old Kirby. During his discovery session Kirby encountered his first ever flying squeaky, an appropriately timed Easter Bunny replete with pastel blue fur and floppy ears. He wasn’t sure what to do with the toy, so he merely contemplated the invitation to provide a tour of the park for his new friend. Then Kirby turned his attention to the Dandelions that were beginning their beautiful yellow springtime profusion. There he embarked on a puppy quest that could have been an exciting but painful lesson. Luckily, the honeybee was much more interested in harvesting some pollen protein than she was in teaching a canine to be careful what you are sniffing. Kirby is an amazingly intelligent, quiet, and gentle pup who, in the midst of new happenstance, showed a remarkable focus on his human and posed with friendship and an inquisitive look of great promise.
