Kira Chihuahua Mix Lenoir, NC

Kira was brought in with her friend, Willey. He has been adopted, leaving Kira to wait patiently for God to send her forever family.

With a guesstimated birthday in Jan. 2015, Kira weighed 6 lb at her vet visit in Jan. 2024.

Kira is praying for a quiet home that doesn't expect her to be a playful pup. She's house-trained and will let her foster know when she wants to go outside.

Kira has a cataract in her right eye and may be having diminished vision in her left. She walks well on a leash and just wants to be with her people, especially if it's "lap time".

Whether dogs / puppies come in as strays or owner surrenders, we make our best guess as to birthdate and breed.

For adult dogs, our adoption fee covers a standard canine vaccine, a rabies vaccine, and deworming if recommended by our vet. Adult dogs will also have current heartworm test. For puppies over the age of 14 weeks, our adoption fee covers the first 3 puppy vaccines. If the puppy is still in our care at 16 weeks, we will also provide the rabies vaccine.

A vet reference is required only if you are adopting an intact dog over 6 months of age (or the age our attending veterinarian recommends for spay/neuter) to ensure future altering of the dog. A refundable spay/neuter deposit is required for intact dogs/puppies.

Open Adoption Events for Foster Dogs are held on most Saturdays at Tractor Supply in Lenoir from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Open Adoption Events for Bunch Anderson Shelter Dogs are held every Saturday from noon-4:00 p.m. Please check our FB page for changes in Adoption Event Schedules.

A scheduled Meet & Greet between Adoption Events may be possible by sending an e-mail to: info@foothillscaninerescue.org. We do not hold dogs. Fees are required in cash at Tractor Supply.
