Many rescue stories are about dogs that are found dumped. It is hard to imagine that when a person dumps three baby pups and leaves them to the wild and elements of the world to fend for themselves, vulnerable to disease and wild animals, how do they walk away?

Keeley and her two siblings were found dumped off at an old abandoned home; what a scary and painful death they would have endured if they were not rescued by a wonderful Louisiana woman. A vision of them curled together and afraid comes to mind when we hear their story. Our rescuer could not walk away, Keely and her siblings were immediately taken into the RDVG vet.

Keely is a 40lb female sweet black mouth cur. She is the happiest little girl you will ever meet. She is described as a sweet dog that loves attention and greets all humans with kindness. She enjoys getting her belly scratched and will roll over in front of you and give you plenty of opportunities to do more!

He foster noticed that Keely is very observant of all that is around her and learns the daily routine quickly; she can anticipate your next move and likes to run ahead of you to let you know that she knows what is coming next! You will never meet a more loving and playful pup than Keely. She thoroughly enjoys every minute of her life. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She gets along with all the dogs, however, we are not sure how she would be around cats.

Black Mouth Cur’s dogs are a favorite of the south. They are also well known for keeping snakes and varmints out of their yards! They are known to be very sensitive and protective around people. With children they often tone-down the intense play and become sensitive, mild and very protective. They are very affectionate as a family dog. Curious and smart they sense the tone of a situation and act accordingly around humans, more specifically children. Cur dogs are devoted to family, but may be wary of strangers.

BMC are playful, energetic and athletic dogs that loves to play and is seldom seen sitting idle. This breed is pretty gentle and very playful with other dogs. Once they feel safe around another dog they get along well and bond quickly. They are fearless, kind, loyal and very smart and can outsmart his owner sometimes. They are shy around strangers, not aggressive but very submissive.

As for Cats, well Black Mouth Curs are born with hunting instincts; if a cat is around them, they might chase it. A BLC would do great with a place with a backyard. Overall they are a multitalented dog and can be trained for literally anything. BMC are intelligent, attractive and make a great family dog. However, they need a family who is serious about their pets and can fulfill the dog’s requirement. All dogs need plenty of opportunities for exercise each and every day.

Keely foster mom tells us that she loves her and tells us that if she didn’t have so many older dogs in her care she would love to keep her. However, she knows that after all Keely has been through, she deserves a good home that will give her lots of one on one love and attention.

Keely is the absolute perfect balance of her breed, she is sweet, smart & playful. She loves games and seems to do well in a suburban setting with lots of exercise. Do you have room in your heart for a new best friend? Keely wants nothing more than to share her heart with someone who can appreciate it for what it truly is: special beyond the ability to describe.
