Hi everyone!! My name is Kathika, but you can call me Kat for short. My name means Bestower of Courage, but right now, I’m the one that is needing a little bit of courage. I am 3.5 yrs old, and I am an English Bulldog mix. I came to rescue after myself and some other dogs were discovered in some cages on a property, and we weren’t being taken good care of. I have been in a foster home for a few weeks now, but it has taken me that long to start coming out of my shell. This world is a huge and scary place!! There are so many sounds, so many people, and just a lot that goes on around me. I am really shy, and I take awhile to warm up to people, but when I do, I am the queen of loving and snuggling. I just need the time to adjust to a situation on my terms. I need to be an only dog and I haven’t met a cat yet, so I am not sure what I would think about that. Right now, we are thinking that I would do better with older kids simply because I am still so nervous about people and smaller kids might be too overwhelming for me. I do great in telling you that I have to go potty outside as long as I am kept on a schedule and you pay attention to my cues to need to go. I don’t mind being in my crate, and I am learning to be on a leash. This world is such a scary and new place, but I am getting more and more secure in it every single day. I just am going to need someone who can understand that I need to do things on my terms and to love me through the process no matter how long it takes. Could you be that person??
