Jasper is a fun loving boy who wants to make friends with everyone. He is living in a foster home with dogs and cats and he is doing great. He loves to play, play, play. He thinks that he is a puppy and would benefit from another playful companion. Jasper would be fine in a home with respectful, dog savvy children who will understand that Cocker Spaniel ears are not to be used for handlebars. Jasper is just 4 years old (despite his premature gray muzzle) and is full grown at 19 pounds. His foster mom says he is 'very friendly and lovely.'

Jasper's foster family is working with him on proper potty manners and he's doing great, he seems to be housebroken and is using a crate and potty door. As with any new dog, he will likely need housebreaking reminders and continued crate training until he knows the routine. Jasper LOVES the sound of his own voice and howls to communicate most things...potty time, meal time, treat time and just plain loving time, so apartment living is likely not a good fit. Jasper would love a home with a securely fenced yard where he can enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. He is also a fan of cozy furniture and being close to his people.

Jasper was surrendered by his owners when he had ear and skin issues. We treated Jasper for those conditions, he was neutered and is now ready for his forever home. Jasper recently received a Cytopoint injection and has been prescribed Apoguel for itchy skin. He may need these medications and medicated baths for life.

****IMPORTANT ~ We are looking for adopters with Cocker Spaniel experience. His conditions are very common with the breed and experienced Cocker people will know what to look for while observing. Jasper will most likely need to be monitored lifelong. His adopters will need a budget for regular grooming.

Please note, we have approximately a 200 mile adoption radius from Stanwood WA for our Senior Dogs. Save-A-Mutt may limit this distance based on the long term needs of this pet. We don’t adopt out of state except to the Vancouver BC area. We don’t ship dogs. Once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA.
