Joel Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler & English Pointer Mix metairie, LA

Joel is a 10-month-old English Pointer mix pup. He was found as a stray and ended up at a high kill shelter. We got him just in time before they were about to put him down at no fault of his own.

Putting the past behind, Joel is ready to find his perfect match and shower them with affection.

Joel can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but once he gains your trust, he becomes a sweet and playful boy. In the beginning he may avoid you and bark from a distance. He just needs a patient home with lots of love. A secure fenced yard is essential to keep him safe while he adjusts to his new surroundings.

Once Joel realizes you're not all that big and scarey, he becomes an obedient pup who knows how to sit and even offers his paw. He is kennel trained and enjoys spending time outdoors, running around and exploring. Joel is very affectionate and deserves a loving home where he can thrive.

Joel gets along well with other dogs, cats, and even kids - as long as they give him the space he initially needs. He has shown a fondness for his foster brothers and sisters, so having a doggy companion for him would be in his best interest.
