Meet Jezzie

Sunshine mixed with a little lightning is the best way to describe Jezabelle!

Jezzie is approximately a 5-year-old mantle Dane/Staffie mix, but has all the typical Dane traits. She clocks in at about 90 lbs.

Jezzie is living in foster care with a family with two kids, a female pittie mix and small breed. She is the sweetest girl with a mischievous streak!

Jezzie came into rescue from a neglect case situation from local animal control. When we first got her she was starving and sick - so food was her main focus. With time she has relaxed around food, although she is still an opportunist and will snatch off the counter at first chance. Give a firm no, she does give up for the moment.

She has learned sit and stay, for food of course, although she still gets very excited and sometimes it’s hard to get her butt to stop wiggling...

Jezzie loves to snuggle on the couch and lounge around the house with her humans, but at 5 years old, she has a ton of spunk in her. She is always up to play play play!

Toys are a new hot item with Jezzie, she’s figured out how to play with them! She initially displayed some resource guarding, but we have been working with her on this and playtime has gotten so fun with her foster siblings! Especially tug of war!!!

According to Jezzie, rolling in the grass is the best pastime! When running she reminds her foster parents of a gazelle: quick, elegant, and nimble. She even hops like one! She does like to jump on the fence for attention and she can almost scale it, so future owners must be aware. A privacy fence is required for Miss Jezzie.

Jezzie would do best in a home with older kids (8+) . She is good with other dogs and would do best in a home with another canine companion because she always wants to play. She'd do best with a young, submissive playmate that can keep up with her antics, because she's a lot. Like A LOT a lot. And she can be dominant at times and play rough. But she ABSOLUTELY LOVES the interaction and wrestling sessions with other pups.

She may do ok in a home without another dog, as long as her human is home most of the time and willing to exercise her a lot.

She is a great shadow and partner for anyone! She loves to be the center of attention and would make an excellent choice for a first-time dane family. She's always happy!

Jezzie is fully vaccinated, spayed and microchipped. She is currently in a foster home in Pensacola, FL. Out of respect for our foster family's time and privacy, we do NOT arrange meet and greets without an approved application on file.
