Meet Jayce

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************

We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.

Jayce, 11 months old, spayed female, plott hound mix, 60 pounds. Jayce is in a foster home in Houston, TEXAS and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up!

We want to start with Jayce's special needs - she is deaf but this has not created any issues for training or behavior. She pays attention to her handler and has no issues getting along with other dogs.

Jayce's foster has put in the hard work and has ensured she is potty, crate and leash trained but adopters should expect some potential regression with the change in her routine and structure. She is easy-going and laidback, and doesn't have a lot of crazy "puppy energy," but is always up for a good romp-around in the back yard.

Jayce has been around kids (loves them!), cats (pays no mind whatsoever) and other dogs (large, small, older and younger), and has a very sweet, loving personality. She is playful and good-natured, and absolutely loves jumping on the trampoline with her two-legged friends. While Jayce has been around kids without any issue, we would typically suggest homes with kids over the age of 10yrs or those who can understand and will respect animal behavior cues.

Structure and routine go long ways in establishing good house manners, especially for dogs with hearing impairments. Training can be self-taught or through the use of professional resources. Jayce's ideal home would be one that understands there is a lot of learning for a young dog and is willing to be patient through the process.

***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***
