Jax Jack Russell Terrier & Dachshund Mix West Jefferson, OH

Hey everyone! My name is Jax and I am looking for a new home, my furever home. I made my way to this nice place after my previous owner could no longer care for me. I am a Jack Russell Terrier and Dachshund mix, currently weighing a healthy 15lbs with an estimated date of birth of February 2018.
When I first got here I was a little scared and unsure of everything and everyone. I barked whenever anyone would come to my kennel to visit me, only because I was so overwhelmed. But that quickly changed once I realized how nice everyone here is, and that they take really good care of me! I got lots of daily exercise. I take walks and I like to visit everyone around the building and in the office. I am a bit of a social butterfly when I am out and about. I really love when I get to run around off leash outside in the dog run or in one of the big meet and greet areas they have here. Sometimes I will pick up a toy and play with it, but I would rather snuggle up against a nice warm person and get lots of pets and affection. They even gave me my own soft and fluffy bed here to sleep on and I really love it.
I do really well at keeping my kennel or crate nice and clean, even overnights when I hold it a bit longer! House training is something that I have worked on before and transitioning to a new home should go very well for me.
When it comes to meeting some of the other dogs here, I was very unsure and just scared in general. I met both small and big dogs and I think I just prefer to be the only dog in the home. I did meet some of the free roaming cats here, and although I was scared of them the first time, I did great the second time. I just sniffed them and walked away. I think with proper introductions I could live in a home with feline friends.
So that is who I am in a nutshell. I have so much more personality and love to show to whoever chooses me to add to their family. Our adoption fees vary, Shelter Dogs are $180, Prison Dogs are $250, Puppies are $300, and Popular Pure-Breeds are $400. The price includes: a Home Again Microchip, set of shots, de-worming, heartworm testing (if old enough), spay or neuter, and a 1 year rabies shot (if old enough). All dogs adopted must leave with a county license at an additional cost of $17, this fee is cash only. Adoption fees can be done using credit card or cash.
