Jax Weimaraner Rutherfordton , NC

JAX is still waiting for his forever home!! He is a 9yr old AKC registered Weimaraner. He is a giant goofball who is full of love. He is a true Velcro-weim and he loves to be wherever you are. His favorite thing in the world is playing ball and receiving all the attention and love that he can!
Jax still needs a little work with obedience as he sometimes jumps when too excited. That being said, we would not recommend a home with small children.
Jax had lived the last 5 years of his life completely outdoors, but his wonderful foster family has shown him how comfortable and great it is to be a housedog, and Jax immediately took a liking to it and is thriving and loving is life now.
Jax is extremely tolerant and lovable but he doesn’t realize he’s almost 100lbs. He also does great with his foster family’s small three-legged dog, but he can be reactive to some other dogs. If introductions are done correctly and slowly, he would probably be ok with sharing a home with another dog.
We believe, though, that he would THRIVE being the only dog. He is an older boy who deserves to live his golden years soaking up all the love and attention possible. He does ok on the leash, but it is currently not used much because the foster family has a big yard for him to run around in. Jax sometimes pulls on leash but if you correct him and have treats to reward him for doing good, he listens and learns very quickly.
Jax needs an experienced weim owner who is familiar with the antics of this wonderful wacky breed. Oh, and he is a counter surfer if something yummy is left out because he’s so big he can reach things that other dogs can’t, so if he gets the chance, he will take it. On a positive note, you will learn to keep a very tidy kitchen! LOL
Jax is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and current on heartworm prevention.
