Jasmine Labrador Retriever Kingston, ON

We'd like to introduce you to the sweetest little MIRACLE... and one who is searching for her forever home through NDDR!

Meet Jasmine... she was rescued by one of our rescue partners in April 2021, after spending two months dragging herself through the streets of Hermosillo, Mexico with a broken spine, eating from trash cans to survive. The time she spent on her own, fighting for survival, was evidenced in the trauma sustained to her skin, scraped up from dragging herself around on the ground - her leg and hip bones were actually visible through the wounds on on her lower body.

Jasmine spent 6 months in veterinary care, during which she had multiple surgeries. Not only did she survive the trauma that left her with a fractured spine and two months of fending for herself on the streets, she lived through ferocious infection to her skin (a result of her time on the streets), and pyometra, which is a life-threatening infection of an animal's uterus. Miraculously, this incredibly sweet, gentle soul triumphed over all odds. Veterinarians who have helped Jasmine have actually said that the fact that she survived is truly incomprehensible. She has even shown indications of sensation in her lower body, which seems impossible after all she went through.

Many who have met her say Jasmine is possibly the sweetest dog on earth! She loves EVERYONE she comes into contact with, and is always so gentle and full of joy. Jasmine loves being close to her humans, and will snuggle right up with them at night, too, when given the chance! She would love a home with another dog to keep her company and a family that can give her the confidence, love, and support she needs to keep getting strong! Jasmine is great with other dogs of all sizes and would happily live with children in her future home, too.

Since her rescue, Jasmine has traveled to Kingston, ON, where she is with an amazing foster family!
