Meet Iris!
Iris is ready to wiggle her way into your heart! Iris is an incredibly friendly, social, and playful pup, making her the perfect companion for an active household. At this stage of puppyhood, she's in the chewing and mouthy phase, so it's best if children in the home are over 10 years old. Iris is a lover of playtime and enjoys wrestling with other dogs. However, she may need some guidance in understanding boundaries, especially with cats. She's less likely to take cues from them and may insist on trying to play with them. Therefore, Iris would thrive in a home with a younger adult dog to help her continue working on her manners with other dogs. A home without cats would be ideal for Iris's playful nature. Both loving and sweet, Iris sleeps peacefully through the night in her crate in the foster's bedroom, ready to wake up each morning with a wagging tail and playful spirit.
Iris is already making great progress in crate training and using the outdoors for potty breaks. While she may still have occasional accidents, she's eager to learn and improve with a committed adopter who can provide frequent potty breaks and patience as she continues to build on her house training skills. If you're ready to add a bundle of joy to your family, Iris could be the perfect match for you! With her charming personality and playful demeanor, she's sure to bring endless happiness and laughter into your home.
Iris is not ready for her spay surgery yet, but she has received her first vaccines. Her spay/neuter, rabies, and full vaccine series will be completed by RARE as age-appropriate and will be included in the Adoption Contract.

We understand that it is important to you to find the right fit for your family. We feel the same way! The DOG ADOPTION INTEREST FORM is important and REQUIRED for this reason.
All of our Adoptables are:
Spayed/neutered; Up to date on vaccines; Heartworm tested if six months or older (& kept on heartworm preventative and treated for heartworms if positive when entering our program): Microchipped prior to adoption
BREEDS: We are not breed experts. The breed(s) listed for each adoptable are best guesses or suggestions.
PLEASE NOTE: We are a non-profit organization without municipal or government funding. Veterinary/Medical expenses are constant for an animal rescue. Our adoption fees not only help to provide vetting and care for the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heartworm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need in order to be made available for adoption.
Please understand that adopting an animal is a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to that animal and there will be veterinary expenses throughout their life that can often cost several hundreds, if not thousands of dollars (without pet insurance), especially without annual checkups and preventative care. As a potential family for this pet you are responsible for their safety and that includes keeping them on your property.
***If you are not in the middle Tennessee area, transport can potentially be arranged to approved homes, depending on distance and local adaptability. We normally do not allow adoptions outside of 1.5 hours driving distance.
