Hunter Wire Fox Terrier & Wirehaired Terrier Mix Concord, NH

Hunter is ready for his forever home! I've been fostering him for a few months now and worked through his fear of men so he searches my husband out for affection! He plays a game with my husband where he'll run towards him and as soon as my husband turns around he'll run away like a game of chase. He is still learning how to be a house dog so give him time to trust you and you'll find the best cuddlebug! He's still skittish with men and strangers coming into our home but it's a big milestone for him and means he is ready to meet his family that can bond with him and help him go further!

Hunter is a shepherd/wire haired terrier mix, about 2 years old, about 45lbs, fixed, housetrained (but will have accidents if riled up) crate trained and knows sit, down, off, come, no, and "in" to go in his crate or to come back in the house. He will lay in his crate through the night with no accidents but i've also slept with him on my couch through the night with no issue. He's currently in training to hit a bell when he needs to go out to potty but he'll let you know when he runs back and forth and stops in front of you to give you the "look" :) He is good with little dogs, takes warming up to strangers very slowly, has not been around bigger dogs that i know of, NO cats, good with kids but needs older kids to play with so he can't knock them down. (I have two kids 7 and 8 years old) Hunter LOVES THE SNOW! He likes cheese, enjoys being brushed, and LOVES hugs! He enjoys snuggling up and cuddling with you on the couch or in bed, and playing with his eggplant crinkle bottle toy! He goes NUTS for squirrels and birds outside so he's vocal to alert you when animals or strangers are around.

He was rescued off a kill truck in Puerto Rico as a stray on the streets so he is an opportunity eater. He's not a chewer but leave that sandwhich unguarded and you won't want it after he's done with it! ?

Hunter is available for adoption out of state with an approved adopter.
Transport is available. If you are interested in adopting Hunter please send us a message or you can fill out the application on our website at coalmountain.org and submit it back to us for pre-approval. A home check is required. All resident animals in the home need to be current on vaccines and also spayed and neutered. After approved for adoption we require all adopters to sign an adoption agreement for the adoption to be finalized.
