Meet Hershel! Wonderful Hound Boy!
Hey everyone! Please meet Hershel! Hershel is an almost 2 year old brindle Plott Hound. Hershel was bought from a breeder when he was a baby and he had a genetic deformity in his front legs. He was surrendered to the shelter 6 months ago as a year and a half old pup with crippling deformities. We took Hershel into our rescue hoping to be able to fix his legs and we would’ve never thought how much we would go through with him. Hershel only found one surgeon willing to take his case on, we didn’t know his deformities would be as bad as they were. Hershel went through months of surgeries and healing and he’s now ready to find his forever home. Hershel has perfect house and crate manners, he’s never had a single accident in his home. Hershel is being fostered with kids as little as 4, however we do recommend he go into a home with older kids. Hershel was iffy about the kids at first but 6 months later he has grown to love even the littlest one.
Hershel’s best home would be one with a fenced yard, a 4 foot chain link is okay however he will go nuts if he can see the squirrels, typical hound! He gets along perfectly with dogs of ANY size and does great with the house cats his foster family has. Hershel does have some personality quirks that are breed specific with a plott hound and large hound experience, not just with small hounds, is required to be able to adopt Hershel. We’ve got $6,000+ invested in Hershel, his adoption fee is negotiable to the proper home.
Adoption donation fee is $450 which it is tax-deductible and goes towards the care of homeless pets with Unchained Souls Canine Rescue.
