Meet Hershel

Hi I'm Hershel! If anyone has watched the Walking Dead, I was named after that character. I'm a beautiful blue male Weimaraner. I just had my 5th birthday on March 22nd. I originally was an indoor dog but have lived the past few years outside. In the past I did live with other dogs but I was the alpha male. I'm up to date on my vaccinations, heartworm negative and started on prevention, microchipped and neutered. At my foster home I'm an only dog and I really like that. I love having all the attention to myself. I like to play fetch and tug of war with my foster mom and teenage sister. I can get a little mouthy when I play so I probably should not live with little children as that may be taken the wrong way. I have a lot of energy, love going on walks, but also like to cuddle and have my ears rubbed. I'm learning about living in a neighborhood and am curious of all the noises and animals while on my walks but just pause to watch and listen. I am a great leash walker and will stay by your side. I'm curious about human food, but not a stalker or beggar. I'll usually sniff then go lay down while you eat. I enjoy treats, but can be picky. I'm learning commands such as sit and down. I currently wear belly bands while in the house as I am learning which door to ask to go outside. I was previously housebroke when I lived inside the first few years of my life at my original home. Of course, I hear that anytime a new dog is introduced to a new home, they will make mistakes. You will have to treat me as a 6-week-old puppy in a big body until I learn which door to ask to go out. I'm smart, so it won't take long. Please be patient with me. I am crate trained and sleep in my crate at night and do not cry. I also can be left alone in the house for short periods of time and be a good boy. I'm excited to find my forever home so we can go on lots of walks and cuddle together.
