Henry, Our Cat Whisperer Yellow Labrador Retriever & Cattle Dog Mix Nucla, CO

Our boy Henry was picked up, out in the boonies, with 2 other pups. We don't know much about them but what we do know is that Henry and his other 2 chums are unbelievably sweet, smart and would make an amazing adventure buddies or, if your life is more urban, great dog park doggos. Henry gets along very well with all of the dogs at the shelter, And the other fun fact about Henry is that he adores cats and the puddy tats love him! When Henry makes his way to the cat room, all the kittens drop to the bottom of their cages so they can say hi and Henry's tail wags so quickly, it is just a blur! It is a remarkable and beautiful sight... And the truly amazing thing about Henry is that, after chasing snowflakes in a spring snow storm or a fun walk to the river, he comes back to the shelter and is happy just chillin in his kennel with a treat..the shelter can be a very hectic environment and many of our pups have a hard time mellowing out, but not Henry, he is a steady eddie in all the barking chaos...it is very endearing.:)

Henry loves to play and initiates often. He has a submissive side that shows with our hound dog :) they have a great balance but she is alpha haha. He is very food motivated and has mastered "sit". He likes to chase birds in our yard. He doesn't bark much unless he's spooked or the other dogs start barking then he'll join in.

He's so great about going back into his kennel when I need him to. And that's his safe sleep spot. Around 9:30 each night he'll put himself in there as we get ready to settle in for bed.

He does still have some puppy characteristics as he likes to chew, he hasn't torn anything except a blanket. So we keep a bone for him in his kennel.

He's more on the high energy side and loves to stay active. He's a fast runner, He loves to explore. He loves to fish in our irrigation ditch.

And of course he is a mush and so lovey. He loves being loved.
Henry is a beautiful soul and a free spirit.
