Meet Heart! She is a spunky 2 year old pittie mix. Although she’s got big perky ears, Heart is deaf and would do best with a family that either has experience or is willing to put in the extra work to train and communicate with her through hand signals. Just because she can’t hear, doesn’t mean she can’t learn tricks! Heart knows how to sit, lay down, and shake. With the right owner, she could easily learn more!

Heart is very high energy and loves to climb, jump, and zoom across the yard. Because she can’t hear, Heart often struggles picking up cues from other dogs that they don’t want to play which can lead to negative reactions from other dogs. Some dogs just can’t handle all of her energy.

Heart is crate trained, house trained, and with some correction, is able to loose leash walk. She does best eating and drinking water separately from other dogs and does not like sharing toys or her bed. She is food motivated and can solve any pet puzzle you give her.

Heart is hyper-vigilant and has the need to see everything around her to feel safe and secure. She needs time to adjust to her surroundings and slow introductions with any pet siblings is best, but once she is acclimated, watch out! She will love you till the end of time if you just meet her halfway.

Heart would do best with an active family that love the outdoors and are not afraid to put in some extra work for her training.
