Meet Hazel - Local Foster

Hazel - one of those dogs who photos don't do her justice - she's soooooooo pretty in real life!

Hazel is a beautiful and spunky girl who wants nothing more than to love her humans and be part of the family. She's about 55lbs, around three years old, and currently fostering in Massachusetts. Her unique coloring and dark eyeliner make her one-of-a-kind. When Hazel was first found, she needed medical attention for several wounds but is now fully healed and ready to play!

Her fosters say:

Hazel is a big goofball! She loves, loves, loves playing with her toys, sharing an apple on the couch, or snuggling with her humans. In fact, she ranks among the best canine snugglers we've ever encountered!

She's a medium-energy dog who needs her exercise - she'd make a great hiking partner or running buddy. We've even had her run alongside while biking, and she's done great despite distractions like other dogs or squirrels. Hazel is fully house-trained and crate-trained - she loves her crate and knows when it's time to relax.

Hazel does great with other dogs when introduced properly - slow and steady - the way it should be done. During her time with us, we fostered a puppy, and Hazel was very gentle and sweet with her (see videos!)
On the leash, Hazel can pull at times, but responds to corrections and has come a long since she arrived a few months ago. With strong leadership, we know she'll continue to improve.

Along with better leash manners, we are teaching her more about boundaries with humans (if you love getting your face licked, Hazel is perfect for you!) She's learning quickly. She's a pretty strong girl - some additional training may be needed and we would be happy to help with that.

Hazel would make a loyal and loving addition to any family.

Check out some videos of this precious girl. Watching her play with her toys is just a hoot!!!
