Gus is a 4-year-old APBT/Amstaff/English & American Bulldog mix who will instantly steal your heart with his infectious happiness and doofy personality!

Gus is the kind of dog whose tail never stops wagging, except when you stop giving him affection. He's incredibly easy to keep happy and will shower you with love and gratitude. Scratch his ears, and he'll melt into a puddle of joy, flopping over onto his back for belly rubs. He loves squeaky toys and playing.

Gus does not fully comprehend his own weight and power, but he's been working on improving his manners. He can be a bit of a bulldozer when excited, so a home with no young children who could easily be knocked down would be ideal for him.

Gus does have some resource-guarding tendencies with food, toys, and his humans. He has made improvements with continued work and patience, but he needs someone who is willing to put in the effort and help him grow. MPP is willing to provide some training resources and sessions to anyone who is interested in keeping this big boy.

Gus adores cats and will let them walk all over him. He is dog friendly as well, however, introductions should be done slowly and with submissive or laid-back friends.

It's important to note that Gus has a condition called Eosinophiloc Myositis, which he takes a simple steroid for. We're hoping to work towards weaning him off the medication under his vet's guidance. He has also recently completed heartworm treatment.

Overall, Gus is an incredibly sweet, goofy, and loving dog who just wants to be a part of your every move. He's grateful for a stable home environment and has so much love to give, despite his rough past.
