Gromit Shar-Pei & Labrador Retriever Mix Kentwood, MI

Gromit is a 1-year-old male lab/shar pei mix who initially came with his brother from Ionia Animal Control as strays. His brother has found his family, and now Gromit is ready too! He is tan with white markings and approximately 55lbs. He is a sweet shy boy who is looking for his forever home.

Gromit is a kind, loving pup who can’t wait to find his family. He loves to give big hugs and kisses and is great at cuddling. He enjoys playing outside, and his favorite is a tennis ball. He hasn’t figured out how fetch works, but he loves to run with a ball in his mouth.

We aren’t 100% sure on the details of his past, but based on how he acts, we believe there has been some trauma. He is nervous around new people, and takes a little while to come out of his shell. His new forever home will need to be patient and give him time to adjust. We promise, he is the sweetest happiest boy once he is comfortable!

He will need a home that can enforce positive reinforcement for any training. Gromit does well on a leash and we recommend utilizing a leash/tie out/ or fenced in area while he acclimates to you and your home.

Gromit loves to play with other dogs, and would actually prefer a home with another dog to help him with his confidence. He has done well with a cat in his foster home. He has not been around children, but we believe he would do best with older children only. He is potty trained and crate trained.
