Grimm- URGENT!! English Setter Wood Dale, IL

UPDATE: Grimm has just passed the 7 month mark for his heartworm slow kill treatment. He is currently in a foster home with an invisible fence but ideally we would like to place him in a foster that has a traditional fence and as he has some personality quirks from the terrible place we pulled him from, we need someone familiar with English Setters as he needs more personal care than his current foster can provide. Grimm is a very handsome Liver/ Tricolor and white Field bred English Setter. He is an owner surrender and lived most of his life in an outdoor pen were he was trained to pee and poop through wires that he was also force to walk on. His neglect includes heartworm and Lyme disease and he had a 103 temperature upon arrival to our vet.

Grimm has started heartworm slow kill and is feeling better and we hope his sweet personality comes to the surface the longer he is treated. I was told the dogs are 6 years old but we will never know for sure. He is underweight and weighed 49lbs but should be closer to 55. We need to treat him at least a month before he can be neutered. He will need work on cage and house training.

We are looking for a Foster to Adopt home in the Chicago area so we can monitor his care. candidates also need to have a traditional safe fenced in yard as the last thing Grimm needs is any more stress. He is starved for attention and we are hopeful he will have a long happy life.
