Meet Gregory

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Introducing Gregory, your new best friend! He is a big lovable goof who is looking for a human best friend that is as committed to him and he will be to you. He is a classic GSD through and through, in all the best ways-loyal, lovable & affectionate, incredibly smart, observant, and trainable. Gregory is a sensitive guy and thrives in a calm predictable household where he understands your expectations and is able to please you. He responds well to positive redirection, and gets scared or confused by scolding or alpha approaches. He would prefer to be by your side at all times, but if you leave he will accept it (with a short little tantrum). Gregory loves structure but also is always up for exciting fun.

A dream day for Gregory would be filled with treat eating, chasing balls, squeaking fluffy toys, taking long walks, and running in open spaces-all with his human and maybe a best dog buddy too! Gregory is respectful of dog-savvy cats and enjoys dog friends on the medium to larger side, with slow controlled introductions. He is nimble with his almost 100lb body but still overestimates his size and strength so small dog friends are not ideal.

Gregory would also love a house with only adults, or one with older children. He is cautious and sometimes has big emotions when meeting new people, but warms up quickly. The commotion that comes with kids running, playful shouting, strange people entering (we humans call them friends) visiting, might be too much for Gregory to stay regulated despite trying to be the best boy all the time. He walks well on a leash with minimal pulling or prey chasing, but can be overly curious if he gets too close to other dogs. Overall he is easy to handle if you're willing to cross the street when needed. He is also crate trained (but doesn't like it and will cry for a few minutes) but does well roaming the house as long as there's not some good leftovers in the garbage or enticing food on the counter. He's generally not a counter surfer or jumper in general, but when faced with temptation, we all have the capacity to give in, don't we?

Gregory is proud to have earned his place in his foster human's heart, as she thinks he is one of her very favorite dogs to have ever fostered. That deserves a medal of some sort, or at least a perfect family for him, right?

Gregory is from a local impound. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an
